Keeping it out now Keeping it in Let it all begin Thinking about Thinking it through Well it's just me and you And I don't know if I'd call this love It's something I'm not so very sure of So I don't know if I'd call it at all Sure that it's right now Sure that it's wrong Put it all into these songs Feel the trust And feel the pain Then let it happen again And I don't know if I'd call this love It's something I'm not so very sure of So I don't know if I'll call it I don't know if I'll call it I don't know if I'll call it at all

You fall down and everything is quiet for a while I follow you down to the ground again We get up Check for damage decide to move on Recognize that place again 'Cause what we're trying to build takes Moments, Days, and Ages Trying to read the book Not just turn pages Trying to find the stillness in this turning world This turning world All in a row Easy come means easy go Recognize that place again You know what they say Don't you know the words that they say Recognize that phrase again 'Cause what we're trying to build takes Moments, Days, and Ages Trying to read the book Not just turn pages Trying to find the stillness in this turning world This turning world Guess that I know I could stay or I could go Recognize that place again I know what you say Don't you know I love what you say? Recognize your face again 'Cause what we're trying to build takes Moments, Days, and Ages Trying to read the book Not just turn pages Trying to find the stillness in this turning world This turning world What we're trying to build takes Moments, Days, and Ages Trying to read the book and not just turn the pages Trying to find the stillness in this turning world This turning world

Well I say I'm sorry You've heard those word before You say nothing's ever different Why can't it be different This time Let's try again You've heard those words before You say nothing's ever different Why can't it be different This time I say I love you You've heard those words before You say nothing You say nothing You say nothing This time

Nothing ever really seems to change But nothing here ever quite seems the same Walking down the hallway Waking out the door But I don't know what it is I do my Walking for Nothing ever really seems to change But nothing here ever quite seems the same I've been on an aeroplane I've been on a fast train But I don't know what it is that brings me Back again Nothing ever really seems to change But nothing here ever quite seems the same I can try to listen And I can try to hear But when it gets very far it brings me Right back to here Nothing ever really seems to change But nothing here ever quite seems the same

Keeping it out now Keeping it in Let it all begin Thinking about Thinking it through Well it's just me and you And I don't know if I'd call this love It's something I'm not so very sure of So I don't know if I'll call it at all Try to be good now Try to be cruel Just don't act the fool Pictures of you Pictures of me Could they really be And I don't know if I'd call this love It's something I'm not so very sure of So I don't know if I'll call it at all Well we live our lives Live in the world It's a beautiful thing Boy meets a girl Think about possibility And try to live hide balance find reality Sure that it's right now Sure that it's wrong Put it all in a song Feel the trust and feel the pain Let it happen again And I don't know if I'd call her love Just something I'm not so very sure of So I don't know if I'll call it I don't know if I'll call it I don't know if I'll call it at all

This can't be the morning 'cause I was holding you in the night Did I miss a warning? Is there something wrong with my sight? How could I know to beg you please don't go? How could I know? Telephone ringing but it's only 3 a.m. The news that it's bringing Better get down here as fast as you can How could I know to beg you please don't go? How could I know? Say it once so I know that you hear me Say it once so I know that you're here Faith, freedom, distance, and time A far-off horizon, yes Distance and time How could I know to beg you please don't go? How could I know?

about

Sitting in a box of old tapes and re-discovered as part of The Russia Project, this EP is a scrappy little live recording from a coffee house in Ellsworth, WI. I'm joined by Memphis Evans on bass and Kaptain Karl on harp.

Distance and Time—I hope it brings back some good memories.
